Great pictures. No need to make excuses for your dad's wheels - I can appreciate it just the way it sits - very cool.

Hey Mike, I was glad we got to chat. Your '36 looks killer with the new rolling stock.

I introduced myself to Jim and he gave me the tour of his '36 coupe. It's so cool and I'm so glad he didn't paint it red! Said the Pileup was too dusty for the car now, so I told him we have a plan to drastically cut down the dust. So he said maybe.

So many people I see there that I didn't know were there. Bummer.

Here's a funny story. The last checkpoint after the tunnel... the dude would NOT let me in on Sunday. Said I had to park in the gravel lot with the other venders. I explained that I was part of the Peak display and had been all weekend. Not good enough... scram. Asshole. So I headed down the to the gravel lot and snuck into the for sale area so I could go over to the booth and get Brian from Peak to get me over to where I was supposed to be. But as soon as I got out, this guy corners me to see the car. And then people start coming around looking at the car... which of course is in the for sale section. Aaaggghhhh! Luckily Brian noticed I hadn't shown up yet and was looking for me. We drove right past the checkpoint dude, didn't stop and watched him stand there in disbelief. :D

  9. It was Great meeting your Dad and seeing the Cockroach in person...!

Zenor and I got there a bit late on Saturday and I took a couple laps around the track so my roadster wasn't stationary too long...!

That's a great place to have a show... But the Food was terrible...!

Hey Dennise... Sorry I missed you again...!;)

    See you at the "Pile-Up"...!

I didn't know the Cockroach had HAMB ties when I gave it the Period Perfect award. If I had, I'd have pooped right on it instead since it was not fiberglass and built by Boyd. :D

That '36 got the Gazette pick, so there will be a feature on it in the Gazette.

It appears to be very deserving of that pick. I'll look forward to reading more about it and hopefully seeing a few more pictures....

  22. Another quality job, Denise! Glad I finally got to meet you in person, and put some faces with some names from cyberspace. I'll even excuse your waste of Ryan's bandwidth to show my ugly mug! Great show, awful food, the track cruise was a blast, and apparently I wasn't the only one drooling on that '36. See ya all at the pile-up.

Much, much better sweetie, thanks for asking.

You mean I haven't mentioned the fact enough?? :D Yes, it's at the South Austin Speed Shop getting a new Fat Lucky interior.

Can't think of anything besides lack of money or time that would keepme from attending a car event that I wanted to:D

You had more important things to take care of:D We'll have fun at teh PileUp together for sure.

I didn't realize, CONGRATS bud! Well deserved.

It sure does. Glad to finally meet you. Looking forward to seeing you at the PileUp too.

Yeah, kinda figured it out BUT I knew it wasn't necessary for Sunday cuz normally only about 1/2 the cars returned and this event was no different. Light on spectators as well. Great seeing ya again. Got the cakes ordered yet for the PileUp??:D

    Next time

You too. Last years PileUp was over 100 folks so you SHOULD be able to spot it easily. A post will be made soon with the details.

I reworded that statement as I was referring to the '48 Ford not being my cup of tea. I LOVE Dad's '56, wheels and all.

Nope, I had a couple of different folks on the line but no offers and the real serious one, teh one I took for a ride bought a Charger that day instead of Dad's Ford.:(

I think I should ride around with you on the golfcart and point out HAMBer's and their rides.;)

GREAT meeting you too and having the chance to chat. We'lldo it again next month for sure.

Terriffic pictures, so glad we got to meet, it was a great weekend. I had so much fun running the autocross, when I try that at home, Walmart sends the cart guy out to yell at me...

Talked to alot of great people, but missed the Meet & Greet.

    All the best.

Not that it applies here, but that yellow kit car you saw was and Ultima GT. A guy named Jeff Schwartz built it up here in Clrystal Lake, IL. Things got a 1,000 hp twin turbo LS6. 200mph top speed. And this guy won Car Craft Magazine's Real Street Eliminator in an 82 Caddy, so I think he knows what he's doing.
