Trying to respond to a post with scans for an old Hot Rod Mag. and I get the error m***age "uploaded file too large for server to process" I'm kinda' technically challenged, so would appreciate advice on what I'm doing wrong. Thanks
Open a free photobucket account and post photos from there, they are automatically resized when you post from their site. HRP
Also, if you are using Windows, the newer versions include software to batch resize images. I think Vista and newer includes this function and I seem to recall an add-on from Windows to add it to XP. Most image browsing software will also do resizing, as will the free download of Google Picasa image browser. Downsizing to around 800 x 600 pixels is usually ideal for forum posts.
Those 3 rd party photo hosting sites are what's responsible for the mul***udes of missing photos here. I hate them. It's free? Why is it free? Theres nothing free read the privacy agreement & Because when you look at someone's photobucket hosted pics your inundated with adverti*****ts pop ups and all other sorts of nonsense.
Its not just the third party sites, its also here. All my photos were stored here on the HAMB and most of them are gone. To get them back I have to go back and relink ... I thought about it and decided that the majority of anything I've posted probably aren't that interesting to most, not worth the effort =). I have over 400 bookmarked pages here, and when I go back so many of them are missing the photos ... its a shame, so much great information on this board just gone. But look how 21st century, cool, hip and "socialized" the board is now. Yes I know ... sarcasm =) I still come here everyday, will most likely always be an alliance member, and still the best site out there for the 1965 cut off year and older car enthusiast. I have no answer for the pic question. The new way of posting seems to work ok, I don't think I've had a problem with posting them this way. I was thinking the board would auto size them if they are too big. OP's pictures must be huge.
