What was the last year of the Es*** made not Hutson .Thanks for any help Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
That would be Hudson not hutson and they merged with the Es*** Motor Company in 1922. The Es*** Motor Company was its own en***y from 1918-9122. Uh 3 minutes on google, I have literature here in the office somewhere but google was faster.
Mid 32 they became the Es***-Terraplane, then in 33-38 became just the Terraplane, all were a division of Hudson
From the very beginning (1918) Es*** was built by Hudson, it was their low cost economy model. Have worked on 2 different 27's and I have a 28 Es*** sedan that I'm making into a PU. Well built cars.
Es*** was owned by Hudson, but never became a hudson es*** until 1922. Prior to 1922 it was the es*** motor company and a seperate company than hudson, not part of the hudson corporation. They were a separate en***y until the company was disolved in 1922 and then they became Hudson Es*** and part of the Hudson Corporation. While Mr Hudson owned the company they were not a Hudson until 1922. I know that it is mincing words but it is a history. The whole corporation thing can get pretty confusing. Think of it this way, let us suppose that you own a Company with investors to get you off the ground called Studeynut. You manufacture stock replacement parts for Studebaker Land yaughts. On the side you have a seperate company soley owned by you that manufactures intake manifolds called Induction Limited. Now your intake company needs a shot in the arm so you let Studeynut absorb Induction Limited and it becomes Studeynut Induction. Prior to that point it was a different company even though it was owned by you it was not owned by the corporation that was Studeynut. Does that make any sense?
The Es*** Company of 1918-22 was a wholly owned subsidiary of Hudson. After 22, the Es*** Company was dissolved and absorbed into the parent company, Hudson. Joseph Hudson never owned the company. He was an investor in the original company and, since he owned Hudson's Department store and had an established name, the company was named after him. Short story, Es*** was always a Hudson
i think i read in the white triangle news that es*** kind of carried hudson early on, like they were the more profitable brand.
I have a '27 Sedan that was shortened into a pickup. DO you have pics of yours? My '27 rad emblem doesn't mention Hudson at all. It simply says ES*** Super 6. I do know that they were a "combined" company, but the Es*** was sold under it's own name until '32.
