I don't understand...its marked on the pump whats in your choice of gas. isn't it??? no one is trying to fool you into buying ethanol, are they?? I've been useing 10 o/o for maybe 15 years or more. i did a test on my old dodge PU, maybe 10 full tanks and and found NO DIFFERENCE in MPG!!!!!! if i drive under 60 it gets much better MPG. my hotrod...does not like the unleaded gas with 9:25 compression ratio, works great with 10 o/o. no better with 92 oct. are you guys being fair with your self when you check MPG??? i know how to make numbers bend like anyone else...just saying

there are 153 oil refineries in the US, heres a list by state,

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_oil_refineries#Alabama

find your state's list and call the refineries, find out which ones add ethanol and which do not.

for all the energy spent on talking about ethanol here and the other 100 threads on the HAMB, we could have our own HAMB refinery.

  3. A refinery will not tell you shit. It is law that the pumps be marked anyway.

Well the new 15% is the new kid on the block and will soon be the new problem.[IMG]

It says to watch out for damage on 2000 and earlier model engines right there.

Here in OKC several years ago they were putting 15% in and people had problems galore.
The state inspectors clamped down, and stations lost business as others started selling 100 % gas. Lots of stations in OKC still have huge signs saying 100% gas here.

As to mileage, Edmunds.com did a cost per month gas vs ethanol on suv's and vans
The cost to use ethanol was higher . This is using E85.

Everyone has different running driving habits and in my personal
problems I have with any ethanol in my gas is hard hot start on
my Stock, 74 and 69 Ford 302 engines. They act like they are flooded.

I use different cars all the time and mileage is not my
thing to worry about. I fill up when it gets to a quarter tank.

I wish the USA had a better comprehensive energy policy, and I wish Big oil could drill
for oil here, because there is plenty.

My OT fuel injected vehicle tells me it gets 4 mpg more on gas with no alcohol and there is a noticeable power difference. The vehicle does call for 93 octane fuel and alky fuels are only 91 octane maximum around here.

In my reply #30, the interstate trips were from Tampa to Miami and return, all flatland I-75, 90% of the time in overdrive, 2300-2400 rpm, with cruise control set at 73mph.
