Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Topolino Kid, Jan 8, 2012.

  1. needing help from the european hambers!!!!! a few weeks back i had one of the headlight lens get broken on my fiat topolino.....well after days of hunting the web, i finally found a picture of my headlights on a citroen....not interested in a sealed beam replacemant, i love the dome that these headlights have.....i need 1 lens, which are CIBIE marked on the front...haven't had luck finding any numbers on it.....yet.....some small markings on the bottomm of the good lens, but very hard to see excatly what they are......pic has same head lamp as i do..they also have a very disticnt red/ruby colored peice on top that steps down towards the front.....i'll get out here in a bit and take a closeup...hopefully someone overseas will recognise this car and help me get pointed in the right direction for getting a lens....thanks mark

I am from France and can help you to find, collect, and ship what you need with pleasure!

Please send a pic of the broken lens with the o.d. dimensions.

I can look for original Topolino lenses...don't think they were Cibiè originally. Maybe Carello or some other brand.

  4. thanks for the offer but they are off of the pictured citroen above........

The citroen is a traction, but are you sure they are the same OD than the topolino? Please post a pic and the dimensions of yours.

  6. You really need to place a photo of the lens with diameter and depth of the gl*** bowl. Lots of different style lines in the old lenses. Can you find the number ABTP***

sure looks like a 35-36 Ford lens.... they are domed and have parallel reflecting patterns.

  8. yeah they look alike, but i read the ford is 8"+ across the open end...mine are about 7"...going out and dismantle the one good one and measure it and take some pics.....like i said, it is the exact light as on the traction in the pics above...bought them on ebay france.....ya can tell by the red thing on the tops of the buckets...very different ...

  9. ok pics,,,,not easy taking pics of a gl*** lens.......it has ......

    AGREE.......... CIBIE......... TP
    AB................................ 349

Just as typed ....at the lower bottom...with the cibie centered..(except no periods........................)

measures right about 7" across and has a dome of right at 2".....i didn't want to wrisk breaking the other to take it out of the trim ring...lots of funny looking spring things holding it in......

again, i bought these out of france on ebay france and the guy told me a traction 16 or something.....they are EXACTLY the same as on the white car in the pic above.....it just didn't have anything stating the year of the car........

Parts for Traction 11 (4 cylinders) or 15 (6 cylinders) are not cheap here in France. swap meets are the best places.
I will look to find a lens like yours with my contacts at a more correct price.
