Attended the Goodguys event in Seattle last weekend. What a great show, by far one of the best shows they do with a large number of HAMB friendly rides... This year they opened the event to '72 but the number of 'late' models was not that bad, infact there were a number of really cool rides. Had the pleasure of meeting a few HAMBers I have not before, inlcuding a chance to talk with Rolf and Paul and see their rides in person, both of their rides are super cool. The link to the 700 pictures I took is below http://public.fotki.com/Boones/car_shows/goodguys_19th_annua/ Here are a few I have chose to show here. the orange Track nose was proabably the coolest ride there, so many vintage parts it was amazing...
Here are a few more: This '55 was super nice, thou I would have painted the roof rather then put images of vintage car mags on it.
it's great to see pics of the beautiful and badass 29 hemi powered orange roadster owned by my good friend jr. nelson!, and the orange t model with the six banger is just over the top. thanks again for the pics. dan
Ken, very nice to meet you on Saturday and sit and talk awhile. Thanks for the pics! Sorry you didn't make it over to Amocat's BBQ. It was better than the show! Keith
Hey Ken, it was good to catch up with you on Friday night. I'm really bummed that I couldn't make it to either show (GG or Amoscratch) on Saturday. Oh well, good talking with you anyway even if it wasn't long enough.
Nice to meet you too Boones... Interesting fact about this '55, it's actually a Canadian Pontiac, with Chev front and rear sheet metal. It just blew me away when I saw the dash !
The orange Track-T was my pick for best of show (Gazette Pick). Look for a feature on it in the December issue. I can honestly say that Puyallup is one of my favorite Goodguys events. VERY heavy on the traditional side and the folks that come out area about the nicest you'll meet anywhere! I'll post pics in a few days too.
Oh yeah, I'm definitely no VW fan but that brown bug is a thousand times cooler in person that in photos. AMAZING work!
Yeah! Jr Nelsons car is the shit. Hemi powered, and it just turned 50,000 miles on it since he built it. He drives the shit out of that thing. He is currently re building his 60's show car. a 29 model A called the "Green Onion" He has owned it since he was 16.
attitudor. It can be difficult. I have a big sign on top of my head that says. "get out of the way". Just stand and wait with my camera up in a ready to shot mode.... I hate having people in my pictures. Kirk, what happened to you Sat, never once say you walking around..
This A-Bone was my favorite. What a killer car! and this gasser is the nutz.. Thanks for all the pics! Really top quality!
Gkafer, Did not know you were a HAMBer. We were parked directly across from you on Friday, in the hammered blue 53 buick and the hemi powered roadster. stopped by several times to check out your ride. Some great work, one of my favorites of the show... Seen you cruising it alot of Sat with your Canadian brothers...
Boones, Yeah i have been on here since 2004 just lurking. Yes I remember your cars, very nice! Thanks for the compliments, I had a great time and looking forward to Hot Rod a Rama!
hey thats me in the black shirt i was stripin the hood of that truck its a 53 witha rototiller hood molded into that hood of the truck and two head light buckets welded together for the tail lights
That's Geoff Peterson's "Hebroid" called that because he took the body lines from a 2 seater VW called the Hebmuller, there were 496 built before a fire of suspicious origin at the factory stopped production. If you had seen what Geoff started with, you probably wouldn't believe it. It's not one of those 496, but it's damned close. He has also had the guts to post on the 'net the beginning stages of construction, all the way to the end when he brought it down from his hometown of Vancouver, Canada, to SoCal for a big VW show. You're right, Kirk, he does do some nice work.
He had his build-book there. I think the decklid was made out of about 15 pieces. The body was grafted from seven, I think. It looks like it was a production car that had the fenders removed. He also built the working convertible top himself. Again, I was very impressed. Plus the color is exactly what I want for my modified.
Very nice pics Boones (Ken), and it was nice to meet you (I was hanging out with Gkafer (Geoff) most of the weekend). Kirk, it was also nice to finally meet you too. Hope to see you guys again next year. Mike
