Events either side of Speed Week '09?

Hoping to make the pilgimage to Bonneville next year with some Limey buddies and wonder if there's any HAMB-friendly events just before or after Speed Week we could add to our short trip?

Grateful for the word on any events in California/Nevada on weekends Aug 8/9 or Aug 15/16 '09. I see there's the Pomona swap meet on 16th.

Usually, the Pebble Beach Concours / Monterey Historic Races and the Goodguys Pleasanton show are in the same timeframe. While Pebble isn't considered "HAMB" friendly, it is an incredible sight. Well worth the trip IMO.

 

The ultimate HAMB-friendly event is the weekend after. The HAMB Drags in Joplin MO...

 

Thanks for the replies guys. Just seen elsewhere on here the Pleasanton G-guys bash is Aug 21-23 '09 so that's out the window. Not sure whether Primer Nats is likely to be early enough either.
Just seen Hot August Nights in Reno runs the week to July9th, so that's a possible

Anyone able to confirm date for the '09 HAMB drags please?

A little more digging tells me that now Speed Week is back to its usual slot theclosing weekend might tie up with Andy's picnic or the Nor-Cal Deuce Day?? -anybody have any leads on these please?
Also will the 'Hot Rod Week' daily cruises out from Pleasanton in the week up to P-ton be happening as I;ve heard about this too?
