This was my fear with my bite from 2014. It depends on how much venom gets into the bite. I was lucky.

I've had to bomb some of my dormant project cars - black widows. The other cars get used enough and like someone said they don't like living in active surroundings as a rule. I like to go out at night with a flashlight and a can of spider spray and get the black widows while they are active. We have the house, shop and sheds perimeter sprayed every 90 days, nothing that crawls across that sh!t survives for long. We have lots of wasps/hornets when it gets warm but I try to find and destroy the nests and they go elsewhere.
I hate working in the shop and seeing something moving out of the corner of my eye, most times it's just a little toad or tree frog but it has been huge wolf spiders, jerusalem crickets and scorpions. But not since we hired the bug man..............

Once in HS I was tearing around in my VW Bug and my "friend" was shooting roman candles and hucking fire crackers out the window. I must have turned right while he was winding up because I distinctly remember watching a whole pack of firecrackers go off in slow motion right between my face and the windshield. Does that count as I bug bomb?

    Just set off a bomb....

Both caddies are in there with the windows down or doors propped open, hood and trunk open.

Flipped over a 5 gallon bucket and set off the bomb between them.

I was tempted to use more but the can and labels both say dont use more than 1 per room.

Sealed up all the doors and away we go!

I'll leave it closed until the morning.

I dont expect to have many dead bugs or spiders but I sure hope they ALL die!

Had to flush radiator several time as the motor sat for many years with open intake and exhaust. Rat poop was all in block and made it's way to radiator upon running again. Final wash was with Tide in water. Came out clean but motor failed soon after. Not sure if it was the poop or bad cam and stuck lifters.

I used to run the car at night, at least with door half open and big exhaust fan running. I didn't get fumed by exhaust but the lights attracted every flying critter in my town..To clear the garage I would hang a drop light in front of the running exhaust fan and shut the main lights off..They'd go for the drop light and get ****ed and blowed out; er most times...I learned to not stand too close as some times a big june bug would get knocked back in and if your forehead happened to be in the flight path it HURT!!!

Years ago I stored my 32 sedan in my grandfathers garage and developed a mouse problem in the car. The garage windows were tight and I put wet towels around the doors to seal them. I put some gas in the lawn mower started it and let it run until it was out of gas, well over an hour. Years later when I sold the car the new owner was tearing out the interior and found mummified mouse carc***es. It did take a lot of air freshner to get the smell out of the car

Loooong time ago I Bug Bombed My Girlfriends car....Honda or something...
Put a regular House Bug Bomb on hte center console, pushed it and closed the door...
When I came back there was a big foam ball (looked like a Beehive) hanging from the ceiling,
And the Headliner was sagging a bit....
Didn't kill the Small "Car Roachess" though....Don't eat in your car...

  10. bobss396.I have had a lot of mud dabber on cars I bought. Lucky I could just knock them off. They like to nest on things that don't move around a lot .Bruce.

I find that plain old carb cleaner is great on wasp nests under my deck railing. It even knocks them out of the air.

I have a collection of their little mud huts, I'll have to take some pictures.

  13. bobboss. We have 3 big ones that do that here during the summer on our outside porch. It amazing how they take their webs up in the morning.I have walked in to the webs and had to take a shower to get them off.Bruce.

  14. dan c. I had a black lab, dog in Flordia that got bit by a brown recluse on the leg all the vets accused me of spilling boiling water on the dogs leg because of the reaction of the skin coming off. Till I took him to the Orlando vet that serviced all the K-9 German shepards for the Orlando police force. He knew right away what it was. He was able to save the pups keg but always left a big scar. We have them up here too they mostly hide in wood piles so I always wear gloves when working out side.Bruce.

  15. Bob, done that , that way you don't have to get close to them..Whey do they have to nest under the deck railing there when they have the whole mountain top to nest on???Bruce

  16. Bruce, tell us a little about your Buick wagon you have pictured.
I've sat frozen staring at it for several minutes.
    What a car!

And they like the sunny-side of the deck. The far side of it, they ignore, never a nest there. So now I start to look for them and head them off as they start building a new one.

I used to have a small work shed where I kept my motorcycle. There were always black widow spiders in there. Every time I got the chance I would spray paint them while in their web. Blue metal flake, gold, silver, white, red, whatever was handy. Just grab a can and spray. Looked pretty cool! PB Power Blaster works good too on wasps.

  20. 2many projects, I bought it off flea bay about 7 years ago from a guy in Maine that was moving and couldn't take it with him..It was in Nice shape ,had a replacement 401 motor in it then I painted it.It was to be blue but the guy that mixed the paint screwed up and it looked more like getto purple.Yes it got the looks. A fellow H.A.M.E.R. traded me a 56 Chrysler Windsor for it. It has appeared on here from time to time for sale .Sold the Chrysler Windsor {which I never should of done} and bought the 56 buick station wagon and 71 olds flat top station wagon. I would trade the olds wagon back for another 56 Chrysler again. I thought I had a deal yesterday with the Olds wagon for a 56 Chrysler but the guy turned out to be a dealer in S.C. Thanks for asking. Bruce.
