I was simpely buckling my seat belt in my next door neighbors driveway sitting in the passenger side seat,or as some say the "Bride Side". I am pretty sure it was a mid decade produced Pontiac Firebird, 1975-76-77 the years of the first fully curved back glass. That back glass was the root of this terrebble accident I was a victum too. That design modification forced the engineers to relocate the sholder restraint function on the saftey belt for that year range, to a forward position and with a retractor stashed inside the roof. This retraction device would soon be the one thing to stand between ME...MY CAREER... AND POSSIBLY MY LIFE!!!
    > I recall that windy spring late afternoon, late in may 1987, The changes if temparture of cold fronts heading down from up North then colliding with low pressere systems twirling around on the hot desert floor, give birth to a new dangerous storm system called MONSOONS that have claimed the life of even the most skilled daily hat was about to happen next would keep even the more seasoned kite fliers grounded.
Shortly after sitting down in the firebird which for those that are edjucated know that almost everything is interchangable with the rival uni-body sister car produced by Chevrolet, the Camero, Camero LS, Camero RS, and the ever so popular Chevy Z28, These models were offere in a number of different colors, motor sizes, transmission combinations, T- Top option, the list goes on. Of all "EXTRAS' available back then, NOTHING, at all was installed in my cusions Firebird , to keep me safe from what was about to happen.
Getting in the bird that after noon was fast. I jumed accrosss the hood like the dukes of hazard or Miami Vice. Through my body into the seat. Grabbed the nylon seat-belt pulled down quickly to the belt to lock the male end that I was holding into the female end below. This simple motion was about to put me in a position that may change my life ...... forever.
The belt came down and I was going at such a fast pace that the nylon belt rubbed against my forarm and quickly snagged, I screamed then tried again with the same results "RUGBURN" Finally with my body drained of all its energy... The brain triggers a warning to mymuscles in my arms that for only a second... Give me SUPERHUMAN" strenth. This last pull goes with easy but not without experiencing terrible reporcutions. The three (rugburns) experianced as a result of my frantic buckling, are making my forearm bleed , and leave a ugly scar.
This visual eyesore is the problem I face now..... I was forced to take a few days off..... of my job..... as a WATCH MODEL...... Who knew that the simple errand we tried to run that day, in that firebird, could 've possibly changed the coarse of my modeling career FOREVER

I had a lift give up. Like a retard I tried to stop the truck from falling and got pinned between the wall and the bumper.

Actually we lost a fellow HAMBer earlier this month. BillyTheKid was working under his mom's car and it slipped off the jack and fell on him according to the report on the local news. Pretty sad deal. I never got to meet him but he was a friend of mine on MySpace. He was building a really cool 30 coupe and wanted to trade me for my roadster when I got it. You got to be careful. Even a five minute quick fix can cost you your life.

Aside from the usual cuts, burns, bumps, and rust in my eyes, dispite wearing safety glasses, I've made out well enough. A good friend of mine was crushed to death doing an oil change on his VW bus. My father's new buick came crashing down when the lift broke, but no one was hurt. But the worst thing that happened to me was getting bit by my neighbors dog while lying under my truck. That little sob hated me, and I felt the same way about him. But payback came soon enough when a dumptruck flattened him while he was running loose in the middle of the road.

  8. I was in one of those pick-your-part boneyards last summer, then I heard some big commotion, they started blowing the whistle and running around with the yard trucks kicking everyone out despite it being only 11am. I saw cops and an ambulance show up. Apparently a jack fell on some dude who was under a pickup. As I walked up to the gate, saw the guy as they were trying to pull him out. Chills up my spine. I'll never do that shit again.
