Ha! now that's funny! Yea, I can't say driving it made you feel manly either. I remember watching something one time and they were interveiwing "P Diddy" and he had a picture of his first car. It was was a Cabriolet painted purple with a white top and all "pimped out". Gayest car on the planet!

As for the 4 door 37 olds, I don't think it's all that ugly. It would be a good car to restore and drive in parades. Make a lousy hot rod though.

It is a sign of the current economy..I had advertised a 56 Chevy 2D sedan bare body and rolling ch***is, $500!..after much phone explanation, a buyer sends his daughter down, she gets on the phone and basically talks him out of it, he chews me out for the trip money wasted etc..So, I re-list it for $750, same detailed phone explanation(rust in all the usual tri-5 places), and another guy buys it sight un-seen, glad to have it..In the last year I have given away a 50 Dodge 4D sedan and a 62 Studebaker Lark 4D, like you are saying If they were Fords or Chevys it might have been different..I have a three strikes and you're out, no ***le, cracked windshield, frozen engine, four-door....

I know it's not a HAMB car, but I had a pair of mid-'80s Dodge Shelby Chargers that I couldn't sell at all - talk about a niche market interest! Fortunately, I had little in the pair (one had a fresh, dyno'd zero-mile 225-hp 2.2L Turbo!)...one I sold for cash, the other I parted a bit, then crushed.

Far as old stuff goes, I had a neat '63 Sport Fury that went wanting for nearly a year, then a guy shows up out of the blue, drove it, then paid what I was asking for it! The '65 F250 I have, I'm about half ready to just fix the brakes and drive the damn thing! Can't even interest anyone in a same-era ('60-'66) Chevy or GMC truck trade! Gucking foofy!

Fortunately, if I somehow get bored with either of my '48 Chevy cars, they'll be a lot easier to sell, I'm sure.

Speaking 80's ****; Pontiac Fiero. Being young and stupid, somehow ended up with one of these things from a guy who had just imported it from the States, it was only 2 or 3 years old and apparently worth big bucks in the US. Heard somewhere that turkeys were dropping small chevy's in these ****ters and thought, hmmmm.
Was heading to the States the same afternoon when I and finally sold it for next to nothing off the back of a tow truck (only miles that thing ever did) to some poor guy wanting to make a Ferrari replica out of it.
If anyone knows of any person remotely involved in the design and engineering of the 84 Pontiac Fiero, please oh please, tie them to the back of a '63 Parisienne, and draaaaaaaaag them. (we want photos too)

I had a 48 Pontiac fastback, missing the engine and front sheet metal, with a good Ohio ***le. I listed it here for $250, no one stepped up. I stripped it and s****ped the body. Two weeks later, I sold the doors for $250. the next week I sold the dash for $100. Sold the seats for $200. I still have a bunch of parts.

  8. It didn't sell because you only listed it here. I've run all kinds of ads on here to the only identifiable response the sound of crickets chirping outside. If you seriously wanted to sell the car whole, you needed to list it elsewhere. Ohio is a pain in the *** state to get a ***le if you don't have one, from what I've been able to gather, that alone should be worth $250 to someone.

I got a '94 2wd with a 4.3l and a 4l60e for free...the guy couldn't sell it for $600 so he gave it to me.... Now it has a 425 Olds TH400 9inch rear with 3.73s...'98 GMC front end...442 Style Ram Air hood...2/4 lowering kit...and so so much more....I had a guy offer me 10k at the car wash a week ago...said no.

He has it listed as SOLD now. Wonder what he got for it?

  12. I had to crush what was left of a 52 Ford 4 dr (it's not Ford or Chevy or nuthin')... I had it for sale for $300, engine ran, was on 4 good tires... Nobody wanted it.\

I sold the dash, the bumpers and the auto transmission for $600, and I pulled the 215-6, stripped off as much of the trim and other stuff that I had room to store, and drug it to the recycler and made $80 more.

Your car ain't worth $2500 if you can't drive it away from where it sits. You may be able to part it out for more than the recycler will give you, but if you are too lazy to do it, one more piece of history is wasted, and the world gets another POS Kia.

It was listed other places too. And yes, the ***le alone was worth $250. I still have it, along with the VIN tag.

I know. Primer it black and put red wheels on it and list it as a, dare I say it, rat rod in your local biggest circulation shopper publication. Cut the price way down and take your lumps, I bet you'll sell it. The crushing talk has to stop. You crush absolute junk only. Sorry, but buy something you want to keep next time, or make this into something you want to keep. Are we not customizers? I have learned over the years to buy and sell what you know and you know someone else will want. For me, what I know is Chevrolet and I rarely lose any money on them or on the parts I sell. I usually make a decent profit to support my enduring habit. My Dad has a 55 Mercury Montclair 2 door hardtop that no one seems to want at what I believe is a reasonable price of $1200. Times aren't easy right now. Our wives want us to keep making mortgage payments and putting food on the table instead of putting our hot rods priority first, even though that Nicson intake is a great buy. Good Luck
