The couple had been married 50 years and to celebrate they went to the same motel/room that they'd spent their wedding night in .

While she was getting ready for bed he went into the bathroom and wept!

  2. Glad to hear that the lines of communication are opening back up Kerry. As hard as it is to talk about, you have to do it.

Sorry for the long ramble yesterday, I was working on that off & on for a little while at work and...

I went over to help a good friend of mine cut his ankle-high grass last night and it really DID help to just hang out with a friend and to help to do some mindless activity with him.

Just remember - we're all in this together! The devil is gonna make you feel like you're the only one in the world who is going through this.

  3. Funny thing is that the sermon at our church last Sunday was about this very thing... (overcoming seemingly overwhelming odds when you think that there is NO WAY that you're going to win.)

BUT BEFORE YOU CLICK AWAY... Our pastor is really cool and laid back, and this is NOT your usual church service. Give it a chance. If you like it, you can always stream it live next Sunday, or check out the archives.

For some people, it's like me inviting you to my favorite restaurant... you may like it and you may hate it, but that's ok! Give it a shot.

Sorry for posting "not-hot-rod-related" stuff, but...

It'll pass! Like others here have said, "Focus on the positive things in your life."

The amazing thing about the HAMB is that there are a lot of people on here that will take their time to encourage you. I have lifelong friends (acquaintances) that have
no time for me if I have a problem.........It's simply all about me being there for them,
either congratulating them for getting a new car/truck or offering my condolences
for a death in the family. But, when I get the 'Big C' I don't even get a phonecall for two years, and when I do it's to ask my wife if I'm still alive. WTF? I'm weeding those 'friends' outta my life at present. Who needs 'em?

It's good to have someone to talk to when you have a problem, and the HAMB offers
us that. You can put up your post, and in a matter of a few hours you'll have some
sympathetic replies from around the world. So, that's one positive thing in your life, now just expand on it, using some of the information you've been given by fellow HAMBERs.

When I need a boost from what seems like a week of friggin' Mondays, I try to accomplish something.....anything. Completing a task to my satisfaction in one day will often times usher in the beginning of a positive stretch for me.

Hang in there kid. Gettin' old ain't for pussys!

I'm glad to hear you sat down and talked Kerry, but don't assume that it's going to get squared away with one conversation. Whatever is happening has probably been building for sometime and it's going to take time and commitment to get to where you want to be. Find someone to talk this out with that isn't attached to the situation, that way you can get a fresh unbiased perspective of what's what.

Regardless, cool to you for sitting down and talking, it's a start bubba:D

Yeah, it pretty much sums up what it's like. Minus all the stuff you miss like anniversaries, birthdays, holidays, and all those other little things in life that make it worth living for. Everyone has issues sometimes you just gotta put them in perceptive.

Get yourself a heavy bag... It's the best therapy you can get for under $100 bucks.
