I look on the user list sometimes to try and find people and im kind of amazed at the amount of signed up people with zero posts, anybody know any of them? I wonder if Ryan can push a button and find out how many there are with 0-1-2 .posts. Just seems kinda weird.
296, if ya wanna see all the folks with 0-1-2 posts go to user list and click on "Total Posts" in the red bar. it'll arrange the list by number of posts. if ya wanna count 'em, count how many lines there are on each page and then start scrolling through pages 'til you get to where you want to stop. on my screen there are 25 lines (hambers) per page. it was on page 60 (that's right; 60) before i got to the folks who had one post. that's 1200 hambers who have NEVER posted. then it was nine more pages 'til i got to the "two-posters. that's about 225 folks with one post. another ten pages of folks with two posts (about 250 hambers). etc., etc. it was on page 138 where it got to people who had 10 posts. conversely, when sorting from the "top" down (just click on the red bar again and it'll sort from most posts to least) i got to page 50 before i got to hambers with less than 100 posts. that means that 1250 people have 100 or more posts. that's a lot of "regular" posters. did i mention that i thank every one of them/you for being here?

And we thought this place is busy now, the amount of information and speed of replies wwould be unsurpassed. Come on lurkers..get in the act. This is a two way street.. Part of the reason that many people don't post is the tremendous numbers of PRICKS that make banal comments.The JERKS that don't do anything but bitch and put others down should be muzzled.Perhaps a way that the person starting the post could flush a**holes comments would work. Another alternative would be a childrens site for the comments from the peanut gallery to be directed. My 12 year old refuses to view this site for this reason and language. Good way to turn off the younger set. Another alternative would be to go thru the posts of the most vocal and BAN all the dumb a**es.This board could be the best,but we nned to eliminate the pettiness. We can't all agree,but should act as adults.

I understand that you want to protect your kid from things he should/not see, but again, THIS IS A MESSAGE BOARD, not a babysitter. Parents should be making the decision which websites are appropiate for their children, NOT the children. This is an adult site. We all know that. If content bothers you or your child there are plenty of car messages boards that are PG and G rated with cyber nannys and all that heavy montioring. Each site has it's own advanages and disadvanages. The HAMB works perfect just the way it is for the majority that are here. I've chatted to a number of people over the years that are signed up here but don't post. One of the reasons that always comes up is time. Not enough time in the day to actually read whats going here and keep up. The other reason which is somewhat attached is the fact that by the time they see a post that needs an answer, it's been answered a number of times by a number of people. They don't feel a need to add anything so they basicly sit back and lurk. There are aspects of the HAMB that can be shared with children that are interested in traditional hot rods and customs. In fact, sitting at a computer together looking and talking about some of the event photos of the cars with your child could be fun and forefilling for both parent and child. Share the HAMB with him but do it TOGETHER.
We should cut down on all the god damned cussing... I mean, what the fuck? Seriously, my take? Just chill out and be yourself. I don't like all the arguing and bickering, but I love differences in opinion. I do wish people would accept them a little more intelligently, but what can I do? It is what it is and the HAMB is the HAMB. Love it or hate - I do both all the time. As for the user list, consider this: Only 35% of our actual traffic is from registered users.

Is it possible to see how many of the registered no-posters actually read the HAMB on a relatively regular basis? Kill off all the inactive accounts. Would that clear up some space maybe?

I love HAMB, bitching and all. I can honestly say thank God I found the HAMB. I love this place so much. Now that all of my old friends went off to college I would have NO friends right now if it weren't for the HAMB, dead serious. I love HAMB, I love Ryan, but most of all I love seeing pics of Mrs. Hankcash
I know several older Rodders that read the HAMB regularly, but are pretty much computer illiterate. In other words, they keep up with everything thats going on, but can't figure out how to reply, or make their own post's....
