  12. I think these are all great ideas. I say get the appropriate permits and run with it. Think about it. You could sell in many different markets, and it could be your ticket to get into different events (to work, make money, and if you hired a helper or three you could check out the event). If you got a liquor license, you could sign up to sell beer at car shows. You could also sell coffee, donuts, muffins, smoothies, cotton candy (old-fashioned cotton candy machine, of coors), popcorn, kettle corn, corn dogs, hot dogs, ice cream, beef jerkme, etc. It could be an ice cream truck on hot summer weekends, and a beer truck on hot summer nights.

What's the worst that could happen? You end up with a truck that's a cool tailgater? If you did it right, I bet you could earn hot rod money and have a great time doing it.

Put on your Nikes and JUST DO IT!

    Motivational speech over. :D

    Thanks,
    Kurt

Yes. The truck in reply#48 is owned by Jim Trotta the "Ice Cream Man From Hell'. He lives in Bunnel Florida. The truck was designed with the help of the late Ed 'Big Daddy' Roth. It is fully street legal and just one of his many custom vehicles. For many years he lived in Flagtown NJ. Jim's wife Anna drove a Good Humor van style ice cream truck plus she owns a classic all stock 1953 original Good Humor jump style truck. They do many cars and bike show worldwide.
And yes it's fast, No you can't drive it.

"Ever seen a hot rod ice cream truck?". We built the damn thing. This is the original, all others are merely duplications. More pictures to come.[IMG]

I Just picked up another old ice cream truck project. Man my garage and driveway are full of these things now.

It's a 1959 Ford F 350 Step Van old Mister Softee truck. Too cold for ice cream right now, but once it gets warmer I'll go over it and figure out what to do with it.
