A friend of mine owned this customized 1934 Ford Cabriolet from 1956-62, when it was sold in the Seattle Washington area, and he never saw it again. It was sold for pretty decent money for the time, so hopefully it was enjoyed and might still exist? He would love to know if the car still survives ! Unfortunately, these are the only pictures he has. Some details about the car at the time it was sold: -Painted Buick Tahitian red -chopped 3" -40 Ford dash and column, with shifter flipped to left side -cream and maroon vinyl upholstery with fur (!) door panels, crestliner steering wheel -white top -35' Ford 16" wire wheels -39' Ford taillights in the fenders -37' Desoto front bumpers on the front and rear. -38' Flathead with a single carb and some chrome accessories and dual exhaust - Car was purchased in 1956 from David E. Strand in the Blue Ridge area of Ballard, a neighborhood in Seattle. He was going to the University of Washington and was previously a Ballard High student. - Car was sold to an unknown buyer in 1962 and never seen after that. I know it's a long shot, but with the car being mildly customized, and sold for good money at the time, it could still live? or someone here might remember it? cool pictures anyhow !!!
Has a filled cowl vent which is usually a real chore to return to stock so that may be a clue to look for if the car was redone/repainted. We can only hope that the car survived and sits as pictured, somewhere in a NW garage waiting to be discovered.
Amazing car, unfortunately I’ve never seen or heard of it until now. I hope someone can chime in that’s in the know. ironandsteele.com
Wow such a cool car I grew up not too many miles from Blue Ridge But I’m afraid I was only 4 when it sold Most of the old timers I know have passed on so wouldn’t know who to ask about it Hope it gets found unmolested, but that’s pretty unlikely
