Hot Rods Ever seen this done before

    My Brother in law just picked up this A body overall its not in bad shape, its been in a barn since the 60's he is just gonna make a low budget roadster from it but I have never seen this treatment before any thoughts on why they would have done this?

    thats pretty crazy looking, id leave that hump there but clean it up and figure out what it was for.

    what a shame, that could have been a nice coupe. maybe you could find some coupe roof parts and put it all back together. if not, a roadster is just as cool!

    If your brother looks he can find the top for the car .But If he wants a roadster he will need to cut that shit off or he will be explaining to people all the time that he did not do it he found it this way .Very nice body

    LOL...Yeah its like a 15" chop, but seriously I cant figure out why anybody would do this, it extends forward past package tray so WTF were they thinking or trying to accomplish with this?

    Looks like maybe they where trying to create a back that extends to the seats. Like the tbirds had/have. Except those are removable.

    maybe the orig owner had such a hot wife,such a good job, and such a nice house he did that to put some ugly back in to his life!!!!!

    That's my guess too. If this car was going to be raced it may have been done in conjunction with some sort of removeable tonneau cover.

    Either way, save that piece once you whack it off, might make a good rolled pan.
