The different mix ratio takes a bit to get used to but the Quantum sands way better than rage gold. It is also nice to have the ability to adjust your working time with the different hardeners.

I guess my problem with the Quantum is I am a creature of habit,,I have used the same type of filler my whole adult life and my relearning curve teamed up with being set in my ways I wasn't happy with the product. HRP

It sands better than others including z-grip. I just can get used to the mixing ratio and different hardener for different temp ranges. I want to like it but haven't had the time to play with it.

Try the 3M Platinum Plus Filler, mixes up nice, goes on nice, and sands awesome. You will also notice you use alot less glaze wit hit

I've used it quite abit. It sure sands nice with much less chance of bubbles than others I've used. I don't use it for more than a 1/16" scim but it feathers beautifully! BUCKD

Very nice filler, but I also prefer 3m platinum plus. Sand greats excellent adhesion to bare metal and epoxy primer, and it actually cut down my usage of final glaze.

I love the idea of no filler. However, sometimes a filler is necessary. The old standard, lead has it's issues also. Currently it appears that everyone is split on the Quantum product. I only need a skim coat as I have used a shrinker over all of the welds. The body is as straight as I can get it with the amount of mods made to it. I want to thank everyone for their advice.

  13. I agree......
You are a realist, and we all need to realize that these old cars- even before we modify them, are less than perfect,so body filler as it is manufactured today is an acceptable evil if we want that last 3% of imperfections to be smoothed up......
It is of such quality today that 20-30 years of life on the finished vehicle is the norm and the tales of old are just that......

I've had good luck with it. I do like the mixture ratio changes for different temp ranges. It did take a little playing with to get it right but it sure sands nice and easy to feather.
