One hundred and nintey thousand dollars. VERY little interest from the general public of bidders, looked like there were a few guys there to bid specifically on it, but other than that, it didn't get a second glance.

I pissed him off at one of the Goodguys shows. He was doing the power parking thing and I parked beside him. His group didn't say 2 words to me and then about 15 minutes later turned the car around in a different position. Ah well...........

I don't have it either, but the car is the one on the cover of The Rodder's Journal #29.

I'm sure there was a lot more invested in the car than it sold for, but building a car to sell is always a gamble.

While it may seem like a disappointment compared to some of the other cars, that still is a lot of money. Rods like Loaded aren’t money makers, very few people get it, or are ever going to get it.

I’m more disappointed that Royce would go through all the trouble of getting a car built with very specific details, into something he wanted and then sell it.

damn. i saw that car and it is nice. excellent details. but how much $$ do you have to have in a car to be upset that it sold for $190,000.00???

if he lost $$ on it..i feel for him..but damn....

    I feel the same way.

The only reason I can think of is that maybe he wants to build another car and has to sell this one to build the next. Maybe rich guys have to do that too?

I would guess somewhere between $500,000 to a million

  17. You really dont understand how many hours it takes to carve something like that out of raw metal? 190 was a deal, you couldnt commission another for anywhere close to that.

Very very true. Most of us that appreciate the car for what it is either

    A) Don't have that kind of money
    B) Would rather buy a house when we DO have that kind of money, or
    C) can walk out in the shop and build something just as cool, given a "vision".

Still though, it kinda makes a disturbing point about "star power". If that had been a Boyd car, it would have brought $400K.

If it was mine, or even if I was in Eric's shoes as a builder, I'd be backstage puking. Even though everyone, Royce included, knows that it's not surefire investment like LA realestate, you'd expect a car that racked up that amount of attention in one year to draw some more interest at auction.

    200,000.00 Don Tognotti's the "Avenger"

Same guy bought both I think.

  22. I love that vehicle although at 190 g's I would have a hard time bringing myself to drive it. Then again....if I had 190 g's to drop on a car, I wouldn't give a shit. That is a lot of money for a car, and don't get me wrong, that car is detailed to no end but all in all there is not a whole lot too it as far as I am concerned. They said they thought there was like 300,000 invested, does anybody know if there is any truth to that?

How about "The Avenger"? That was a bad sonofabitch. If I had money falling out of my ass like that dude who bought that(and a few other vehicles), I would not hesitate to buy it...

Loaded was one of the most jaw dropping autos I've ever seen. The ATD on that thing was incredible.

...........I could be wrong (and usually am) but I think a lot of it had to do with the timing. After the $300,000 and $450,000 GM cars and the million dollar Hemi cars rolled through, the "energy" just went out of the crowd. They were emotionally exhausted and "Loaded" was just another hot rod.........

Can somebody please post a pic of this car for those of us who have never seen it (or refuse to refer to cars by their "name" and therefore don't have a mental vision of what it looks like? I hear "Loaded" and I'm thinking "baked potato" or "pants.")

No shit dude, we get that you are not a fan. I'm not either, really, but I still find the sale price of a car I consider incredibly signifigant a worthwhile topic.
