I never even got to see it. I bought it, but I didn't have enough money to go get it. So I had to trade for something closer. I wish I hadn't. Was it as nice as it looks in the pictures?
I finely got this thing stripped down to what I want to keep. the next step should be fun..... time to remove all the wood and re frame it......
Can somebody do a photoshop with a slightly raked chop. nothing severe, just a little more in front than in the rear. The car is too square, it might add a little something that it needs.
I say leave it like it is. That way it looks like a "Durant" hot rod and not a Ford wanna-be...........just my opinion
....here's your car's cousin,...my 32 DeSoto 3-window. I wish my car was as solid and rustfree as yours, but I'm gathering parts for it slowly so I can make it into a decent car someday. I have all the fenders but it'll be a highboy if I build it. These early 30's Mopars have really nice lines and don't need much body mods. I also will use the parallel leaf springs.
Durant Motors was founded in 1921 by WIlliam Crapo Durant, the founder of General Motors. The Durant was built from 1921 to 1932. Other cars in the Durant family were Locomobile, Star, and Flint. By 1930 only the Durant nameplate was in production. Only about 21,000 cars were sold in 1930, 7270 sold in 1931, and a mere handful in 1932. The company closed in 1932 and was liquidated in 1933.
Man, I love that car. I'd never heard of a Durant, learn something everyday on the HAMB. Looks like a cross between a Model A and a Chevy. Keep the pics coming that car is going to be a jaw dropper. Good luck with it.
in the process of flipping the centers…. the ass end of that car is wide even with a 62inch truck rear end I still need to reverse the rims for the tire to clear the body Flipping the rims myself should be fun im half way done with that part…….
got the rear rims reversed and tires on for a lil more mock up...and my 33 double dip in the front (kinda mocked) BIG THANKS to ROYAL SHIFTER for the axle....soon to have my refreshed 283 back from stormin norm
Yes the Guys at Coker were great they hooked me up thanks to the HAMB Alliance and a lil name dropping
