If anyone saw my earlier post, a few months back I drove out to Salt Lake City and picked up my new 80K original mile '62 Coupe DeVille and had some big plans for the ol' girl... here she is in the previous owner's driveway in SLC:

So a few weeks back it was finally time to take her out to SoCal for the treatment... here's the traditional stop in Blythe, just over the CA border:

She made it to Santa Clarita without problem, here she is the next morning, waiting to go down to Burbank on the last day I'd see her bone stock:

First stop would be lownslow's shop, Imperial Customs, for a 'flaked roof... we decided on "Limefire," a mix of green and gold 'flake... primed:

But by his own admission, Donnie couldn't let it go at that... he had an idea for a candy green fade on top of the 'flake... I have the pics, but for some reason I can't get them to save on this computer... all I can say is if you have Donnie do something for you, just go with whatever he wants to do, you won't be disappointed... pics to come...

And what I think is the best pic, driver's side C-pillar, basically the same shot as in post #6 but with the fade... I really think the stripe ties the bottom half of the car in with the roof now:

So that's the evolution up to today... I'lll keep this thread updated is it goes... Donnie's going to clear it, then the rear window goes back in, then it's a quick drive from Imperial Customs over to low64's shop, RODZ, for airbags! Stay tuned!

Nope, that's it for paint... keeping the stock pale yellow for the lower half... cleaned and shined up of course!

Bellflower style cars are my favorites, and you can't go wrong with a 62 coupe. Also I think Donnie is a really talented guy, having seen some of his work at Paso. The flake on the top of his T bird was unlike anything I'd ever seen. Really imaginative, but really worked on the car.
