I was almost cringin' at the green until I got to the pics with the fade and the pinstripe. That turned it from an almost odd color combo (might just be the way the pics show colors), to downright yummy.

Yeeeaaaahhhh... I'll have to get back to you on that... ummmm NO :)

Actually, you hit what I wanted just right... not too crazy, but definitely attention-getting... actually, every time we talk I think you turn me just a little bit more on those crazy paint jobs... maybe I should stop talking to you before it's covered in lace panels and fades all over!

And the final pic... like Donnie said, after it gets 'bagged he'll buff it out, but here's the final paint - damn it sucks being here in AZ... I'm so f-ing excited to see it in person!!

You gonna drop it off to have the wheels installed after you pick it from air air bags? Then where, to drop it off to get interior installed?

Personally, I think a custom car is to be BUILT, not BOUGHT. Besides the stuff that should be left to the professionals, like that SICK ASS roof.

Props anyways, look foward to seeing it bagged ( my 62 is also bagged )

Hey man, you do what you know... I think I actually had a whole thread goin' about this at one point... in short:

I understand your point completely, and I've held that opinion before in my life... but when it comes down to it, I'm a social worker, soon to go into medicine... my love and my passion is split between cars and helping people... one, I've decided to make a career out of and one, a hobby...

Will I ever paint one one-thousandth as well as Donnie? No. Will I ever install airbags on my own car? No. Actually, I horse traded for the 'bags and Supremes, so Rodz will be installing the wheels too... disappointed in me? I'm not. I know my limitations, and full time work and full time graduate school coupled with my sincere lack of knowledge means that I could never finish this car the way I want it...

I spend my very small amount of free time at a buddy's shop picking up all I can, but when you have 1,000+ pages to read-and understand-and get tested on coupled with three 20+ page papers every week, it makes even the free time not so free...

We're all entitled to our opinions, and if getting this car done well by friends who know what they're doing so that I can get it finished in time to use as my daily (I can't afford my late model anymore) means that in your opinion I'm less of a car guy than you, so be it...

    Ah, here’s the thread:

My comment did seem rude, it was not intended to be just stating my humble opinion. The paint is sick, I paint my own SOMETIMES but when I ned something specific I have a guy. Donnie would be my guy if he was closer, theres no doubt about it. Keep on keepin on.

Donnie, if you had to go with some sort of dark color (like green) and have the '47 Aerosedan geared more towards a lowrider, what would you do to "El Guapo 47":

I think Aeroman's tryin' to hijack my thread! :) Shoot Donnie a PM, probably a better bet :p

As far as outdoor pics, Donnie actually isn't quite finished yet (is he ever?), he's going to add a couple more panels to the center of the roof because, in his words, "the C-pillar looked so lonely..."

So he's doin' two more rectangular panels in the middle of the roof to tie it all in completely... THEN he'll clear again, THEN we'll (hopefully) get our pics of the Caddy's brilliance shinin' in the sun!!

As soon as I get 'em, believe me, they'll be posted here!

Man, you did it right. Get the nicest car you can and then have your way with it. Kinda the same thing with the opposite sex. Count me as one who can't wait to see it dropped and with new rollers! Looks great.

    Donnie is neat-oh...

I dig the colors and layering of green/flake. I wanna paint my truck in similar fashion some day. Please take some pics outside and post them soon so we can get the true flavor. Indoor lighting sucks unless its a studio.

  30. I'm in love!!

Nice going, Longroof. I can see it's gonna be a sweet "Boulevard Cruiser". Keep us posted on this build.
