i just had a quick question. an idea i had for my '47 was to have exhaust cut-outs so i could run straight exhaust when i wanted to. this is just an idea and by no means a necessity. the electronically operated ones are a little out of my price range, but i was wondering if anyone knew anything about these cable operated ones: http://store.summitracing.com/partd...&part=MRG-5424&N=700+-101834+115&autoview=sku

any advice on quality or ease or other options would be great. thanks-fleet

They LEAK so you get the annoying "tick tick tick" sound. If you don't use them regularly, they get stuck either open or closed. The body is cast iron so you have to have steel pipe brazed on to attach them to your exhaust. The can be made to work, but dont expect stellar results right out of the box. A search will turn up some great threads on alternatives.

i have a set of mufflers with a cut out held on by 3 wing nuts. i have to get on the ground to undo them, but i'm okay with that. i've been happy with them... just incase you decide to not go with the wire or elec. operated ones... i think they are called warlock mufflers.
