Hello Folks, I had to go with some different headers on a project recently, due to changing from an auto to a standard. The old ford motorsport headers get in the way of the slave cylinder on the standard so I found some sanderson headers that cleared everything. My problem is in the collector and hooking it to the rest of the piping back. The motorsport header has a tapered end that fits into another tapered end on the exhaust pipe. The new sanderson header doesnt have this taper. It just has a big radius coming out to at flat flange. I have not seen this before and am not sure how to mate that flat flange with the rest of the exhaust. Does anybody have any experience with this type of collector? If so, would you mind enlightening me? I posted some pics of what I had(silver motorsport header) and what i cant figure out(blue ceramic coated header) thanks alot in advance for any coorespondence. h.a.m.b. rules

  2. didn't the Sanderson headers come with collectors? if you had them you could just cut off the headpipe and weld them on

Measure the diameter of the pipe and just order the appropriate size 3 bolt collectors and gaskets from Jegs or Summit. My guess is that they are 2.5"

Okay thanks I see what your saying. The headers kinda suck quality wise on the ports with needing to be deburred, ported better and straight and now i see they didnt come with mating collectors. Thanks for your help!
