exhaust for a y block

i have a 59 ford f100 with a y block. what exhaust set up do you guys recommend? i wanna run straight pipes

 

do you have the cross over pipe going to single exhaust??i have a car but im just running some 56 t-bird cast iron dual exhaust manifolds and had some 1 1/2 straight pipes but put some cherry bombs on because it was loud and the cops didnt like it and i dont like getting pulled over ...it still has a nice rap with the y-block sound.....if you want to run headers red's headers makes some:

I would go to dual exhaust and gl*** packs. Back in the '60's I had a '56 Y-block and it had a nice sound. There's no sound like a Y-block with gl*** packs. It was so nice my dad could still hear me 5 minutes after I left home.

 

A good set of headers and a pair of gl*** packs produces a hard to beat sound with the old Y block

 

i have blockman mellow tones gl*** packs and t-bird headers on my 58 ford y-block great sound

 

Im going to be running original truck rams horns and straight pipes on my 60 f100/yblock

 

check out 'reds headers', they've got some good manifolds & trad mufflers to suit y blocks.
