I have a 37 chevy and I am trying to get mufflers on it that will not run you out of the car. A few points on the build (second time round) I put a 'K' member in the frame to help stiffen it up and I also built a 4 link with a 9" ford. I thought I had covered all the details in my head (since I was probably on the 9th build in my head) seems I did not cover everything. The 'K' member along with the 4 link and the angle in which I put the shocks did not leave me any room for my exhaust.
I moved the exhaust out under the running boards and turned them out at the rear wheel.
What I need is help in finding a muffler with a good sound 2.5 inlet 2.5 outlet and 4" height.
Wife does not like the loud sound it now has and I do like listening to the radio at times.

  2. It may help, in giving you muffler ideas, if folks knew what engine is in your '37.

use turbo mufflers and run the pipe all the way out the back. The short the pipe is, the louder the exhaust sound is.

On a previous 40 I used some muffler/exhaust tip combos. Sounded nice and the sound was at the rear of the car. Still some available, but expensive now.
