  2. Don't bother....that's a pipe bender and exhaust pipes are tubing.

  3. A guy on the Garage Journal called it the "Harbor Freight Tube Kinker", I got a kick out of that.

If you don't mind the extra connections/joints, most places like Pep Boys sell pre-bent sections of pipe in various sizes. They also sell step-pipes that go up or down in sizes. With these items, you can probably bypass the muffler shop and still make your own dual system.

I've also worked before with the local Meinike muffler shop. They will typically bend pipe for me for roughly $1 per bend. This works out relatively well for me, as I don't wind up with many bends and I still wind up with a nice looking exhaust.

I initially bought my wire feed welder to do my own exhaust on my 89 Chevy ex-cab truck. For what it cost me for the pipe, muffler AND... AND... AND the welder, I still saved over $100 on the total 3" exhaust system. I went with a single 3" pipe from the collector to the turn out just in front of the rear wheel. I figured 3" with a stock 350 would be plenty, and it works and sounds pretty nice.

I would. I have one and I ended up buying mandrel bent sections and welding up my own system. Turned out pretty good.

i used to make my own exhaust by buying the tube and then having a shop put bends in it where i wanted, i`d straighten out old coat hangers and then bend them where the tube needed to be bent, you may already know this. as to the pipe bender there not ment for anything with a thin wall. i just had an exhaust made for my old truck last week for $200 front to back no muffler. i could of done it myself for about $100.
