Exhaust Question

I've been throwing around exhaust ideas for my 49 chevy and found inspiration from the buicks of the same time period. Would it be practical to run exhaust pipes so they dump out of the fenders Buick porthole style? I realize it may be a pain in the *** to get them back off to do an engine swap or something of the like.. but if you did it just right could it be pretty decent?

 

i'm doing that with my 56 with cutouts.

remember, if you port hole exhasut all the time, no matter what, it's blowing into your car, and if you're not careful, you will die. and if you don't die, it'll be really hot and uncomfortable and no woman will ever get in.
