Russ Mitchel of Exile Cycles has built a trike. I'd love to see pics or info about that trike. I only caught a small glimps of it last night on the Biker Build-off Awards Ceremony. PLEASE POST HERE if you have pics. Thanks

The only thing I like about his bikes is the fact he hides the cables and such inside the bars, clean and minimalist. Otherwise, the industrial look with flat black and brushed metal just does not appeal to me.

I like his style with satin paint and aluminum, real minimal and low sort of a bobber style. Not to sure about his twist grip clutch set-up. Anyhow I used to ride bikes alot until I got jacked up falling out of a tree and thought about building a trike after the '50 plymouth is done. Anybody got any ideas??

    I don't like trikes cause, well... I'm a guy.

Any guy with a trike needs to ride his trike ass to Home Depot, buy some miracle grow, dump it down the front of his pants and GROW SOME FUCKING BALLS!!!!

    I'm torn on this one...

    It's either really cool...

    Or EXTREMEly gay.

I mean, I like the lines, but it's a Trike...

    It's agressive but it's billit...

    Not sure.

I think that's the point of the 2 bigs ass tires. Ball supstitutes

  12. the only excuse to ride a trike is if you love bikes but are handicapped somehow and it's required to ride on 3 wheels.

see and that's why i like his stuff. not the "cookie cutter" chopper look like every one seems to have these days. you gotta admit you know it's his when it pulls up or in a crowd. not so with the others. oh who built that?

    exactly

this is the first trike i've saw on TV since discovery channel figured out what a motorcycle was...

I think it's a progression, completely different than everyone else's lame 179 degree rake, and 390 back tires.

or maybe i just like exile bikes?

They're also so rugged and "Toy" looking ... it's awesome.

i'm definetly not a big fan of the "steam roller" tire look. after about a 180 or maybe a 200 it's just getting to big for my taste. hell i still run the 130 on the road camode.

I got all fucked-up from fallin out a tree and can't ride a bike because my leg goes numb so when I have to stop I fall over and can't support the weight of my bike. So a trike is the next best thing. So my balls are still in that tree you HOMO!!

I've seen some trike's that are pretty cool looking but thats not one of them. That wheel/tire combo needs to go.

The rear in Exile's trike reminds me of an early Ford banjo. I normally don't think much of trikes, especially VW powered ones (I wouldn't kick a Roth trike outta my garage though). I like Exiles take on it. WWS

I agree, you definately know it's an Exile bike and I'm sure that was planned. My tastes run to a Frisco style chop from the late '60s and the only guy that was doing that is dead, Indian Larry.

I agree with monsterflake. But I think its 1% per wheel so a trike rider would be a 3%er.

Does that mean that somebody with a RAT ROD is a 4%er?

So 1%ers ride unicycles? Bunch of clowns are they?

    I thought 2% was lowfat milk....

All of these titles, just to be different......and the same.

And great workmanship on the trike, it appears.

At least give him credit for being innovative and original.

I remember him from the early 80's when he was still based in England's West Country. He built a chopper based on, of all things, a Lambretta scooter - it spawned God knows how many inferior copies and a mini-craze for that kind of thing.

Ironically, the bike was called 'Exile'. I'll see if I can dig out a picture.

No doubt he is a craftsman. The Lambretta thing has me imagining a scoot back half with a springer front. I hope you find that pic.
