This is a pic of Russell's Lambretta chop from the early 80's.

He's come a long way, in many ways .......

  2. Well - Russell looks QUITE gay in that picture!
Here's some trikes the right way round...

  3. A+ for engineering....F for appeal (In my humble opinion).

I bet when he picks one of his creations to go for a ride, this one gets left behind a lot.

I haven't studied the pic closely, but I'm pretty sure thats not Russell himself ! If it is, he's not doing a very good job of filling out that underwear.....

    Hmmm...more like "Twisted Sister"....
But...what the hell...he seems cool enough since he's grown up and his bikes are anything but gay compared to some.
I like the minimalist approach he takes and his uncompromising attitude.

I can't figure out one thing though...
I guess its because I'm not a biker so I'll have to ask...WHY are trikes looked down upon?

My understanding is that a single front/double rear configuration is a bitch in the handling dept...poor cornering stability, poor steering response, PITA to maneuver in tight spaces...no reverse...etc.

Trikeing seems to involve a commitment to a style DESPITE the compromises...sorta like NOSTALGIC HOT RODDING!

The only advantage over regular chops, that I can see anyway, is that you don't fall over when you stop!

Is that the measure of a man...being able to drop his foot when the wheels stop rolling....?....?

All I can do is shake my head...So many silly rules to keep us in our place...

    FTR.

    And I ran-n-n-n, I ran so far away-y-y.

    Couldn't get away....

I'll bet that is what Russell says whenever he thinks of that pic.

This thread is killing me.... :D :D

    I like trikes AND sidecars.

...and if thats a dude, hes wearing ladies undies under that leather jacket.
...then again, maybe that's what ya gotta wear when you ride that thing. :D

  15. Those exile bikes remind me a lot of Lil' John Buttera's billet creations of the 80's... the ones that started the Billet trend... interesting because you haven't seen one before... but ugly and you don't realize it until the next trend comes along.

Good point, back in the early '80s that's how you knew a Lil' John car from the others. Like now, you can tell a Boyd car from the curved windshield, although others have caught on, too. What was once revolutionary is now mainstream to the point of being what is expected when one of these famous builders of street rods puts out a car.

I just wish they would go ahead and put the engineering into the performance aspect instead of styling.

    I'm a little biased. I own a 1952 Russian Ural M-72.
Does YOUR motorcycle have a machine gun mount?
    Didn't think so. :)

Lambretta chops are awesome, too. I've also got one of these.

ED ROTH devoted much of his life to trikes.
After I post a picture of Ed Roth on a trike,
will all of you then say you love trikes?

    "That bike is dumb."
    "He's gay!"
You guys are all a bunch of fucking sheep.

Trikes are awesome! I am going to make myself a big, giant bigwheel thats really big, with my dads riding lawn mower and my mountain bike. No Seriously I am going to do it. Just you wait. All I need is a bigger allowence and some duct tape. It will have sissy bars and everything.

Oh crap I gotta go before my mom catches me on the internet.

All I have to say is some are cool some are not!

doesn't the idea of a trike kind of contradict Russel's minimalist ideals?...shouldn't he be building a unicycle?....just a thought

    haha...exactly

The one thing that absolutely kills me everytime I see that used up ad is with all those chunky/thick bikes they all have little tiny headlights stickin out front. Ugh...makes me wanna throw the mag down and kick it.....and I don't know why. haha
