Earlier this month ... photographer extraordinaire, Royce Rumsey asked John Lazenby (@johnl on the H.A.M.B.) if he could use his collection of '50s Chryslers for a photo shoot in an Orange, CA neighborhood. The result of the two-day photo shoot is simply amazing ... and can be viewed in its entirety by clicking this link: EXNER AT EICHLER A Mid-Century Modern Meetup in Orange, California Enjoy!
Fantastic, what a perfect pairing. Thanks for sharing. I shared with my Daughter who's college major is architecture & design. Her favorite period is mid century modern, and she loved it. Her reply; "I'd have made one minor setting adjustment; blocking the modern day curb addresses with the tire to make the photos look 60 years old, especially if they were converted to B&W." Good catch kid!
Thanks for posting the link, I absolutely love those old Mopars. He has a nice gallery of belly tank pictures there too.
I agree! ... but "the purists" would tell you it needs to have 14" rims with 300C hubcaps: ... because Chrysler stopped offering the 15" accessory wire wheels* at the end of the 1956 model year. Back in the '80s ... when my father & I set out to "restore" this particular Jet Black 1957 Chrysler 300C Coupe, we chose to run a set of beautifully re-chromed wires wheels* ... mounted on wide white bias ply tires. I'm sure happy that when I sold the car to @johnl in 1995, he was able to complete our "restoration" ... but chose to keep the wire wheels*. * NOTE: The Motor Rim (not Kelsey-Hayes) wire wheels on "our" / Lazenby's '57 300 C were originally on fellow Bay Area Hot Rodders, Tom & Diane Walsh's 1934 Ford Phaeton: ... which my father (& Gary Meadors) featured in the May 1986 issue of STREET RODDER magazine.
FYI ... That young lady is Page Sigband of Garage Design By Page. Page has appeared on episodes of MotorTrend TV's "Garage Rescue" & HGTV's "Garage Organization Made Simple" ... but more importantly, I believe she is a member of @Ryan's The Garage Journal forum.
