Great reading stuff while you are on the can .. Inaugural Edition of "Throttle" Magazine. Janurary 1941- Volume1 Issue1. It was published by Jack Peters, who was Editor and Publisher. It was published in Los Angeles, California. I found this magazine in my fathers home after he passed away last year. He lived in the Los Angeles area (San Fernando Valley) and was a hot rodder in the 30's and 40's. The magazine is in "good" condition for its 60 plus years of existence. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=280&item=2241799312&rd=1
wow an advertizement for a Miller front drive conversion. wonder what one of them is worth if you were to find one! haha Aaron
Aaron -- That ad is for a scale-model "spin-dizzy" front-drive racecar -- $22.50. A little small but very neat after all . . . and worth maybe as much as $8K-$10K today.
Back in the early days of hot rodding, it was common for the most dedicated hot rodders to stay home and read their entire collections of Throttle while some of their friends were out drinking. As you may know, that was the origin of the term "all Throttle, no bottle". Dave http://www.roadsters.com/
