Projects Exposed Hinges and Cable Type Hood Latch

I'm now going to work on the hood of my 1950 International pickup project.
I'm thinking maybe some exposed hinges from an early GM, Ford, or Chrysler trunk lid.
Maybe even from a Triumph TR3, or 4.
Also thinking about a cable type hood latch mounted in the front portion of hood.
So, I need some suggestions, thoughts, ideas, and hopefully some pictures .
