Not a '30-'31, but it's a 6-1/2" cab corner stretch. Really makes a difference for leg room. Doing a chopped fibergl*** deluxe sedan delivery powered by 1.8 SOHC Ford banger on a '31 A ch***is
DONT DO IT!!!! It doesn't look right & you'll mess up a Model A p/u. Trade the body for a sedan, there's your extra room.
I started this project a good few years ago but have lost interest for now. It is only stretched an extra 2 inches but it allows me to still run most everthing else stock. I used tudor/coupe doors because they were cheaper and easier to find plus I only had a matching cowl at that time. Even a 2 inch gain in one of these cabs helps. It runs semi eliptic rear springs. Pretty well everthing done is home made.
Not the right year but here is my '29 pickup. Lengthened 4" behind the doors, with '27 coupe quarter windows. Chopped 4.5", bed shortened 8" Maybe this will help with proportions.
mine is stretched 4 inches in the back of cab and doors are flush fit giving another inch roof chopped 4 inches and body sectioned 1.5 inches channeled 3 inches. there is tons of space but will all the stretch removable sun roof was needed to see any street signs or lights
hey slag kustom,do you have any pics of the door jam? i was thinking of using a front door jam cut off of a cowl. <!-- / message --><!-- attachments -->
Personally, I find the proportions of the original 30-31 pickups to be a bit off. The cab back looks like an after-though...just a sliver of a thing to make everything work. ie...allowing for the same doors to be used through all the models and also allowing the Model A pickup bed work on that same wheelbase and frame. I think that adding 2-3 inches between the door pillar and the original cab back would make it look right, in my eyes, and also allow some room to shave a little bit off the top I'm not a fan of using a sedan back at all. BUT!!! You could steal a little strip from the sedan back section to make that 2-3 inch strip that I was talking about there.
