I can say without a doubt that Morris Minor hinges are not flat (both hood and trunk).

Ha ha , sounds good to me !
I restore vintage British cars for a living for over 20 years , so I have seen a few (including Minors) , lol. I built a Mo Minor for my brother somewhere around 15 years ago (a bit of a hot rod for a Mo) , he still has it , although he doesn't use it much.

The Morris minor hood hinges are almost flat. Or would that be bonnet?
Morris minor boot, and Morris mascot boot ain't flat and is very short.

But Morris Mascot Mk1 has external door hinges, that are fairly short, but if the can hold the door 90* of the body brimful of beer and a bottle of Johnny walker, too prevent them from smashing to hard agains the door when shutting them, they should be able to hold a trunk lid, an a A-bone!!! They are pics from Google, and at least one of the firms that lists them ship world wide.
And there are some eBay links too.

Best of luck and get to it, lad! [emoji12][emoji41][emoji111]️

Mini door hinges are certainly not flat either , and are actually different top to bottom and side to side. I can assure you Mo Minor hinges are not flat. Close , but not. It's hard to see this kinda stuff in an online photo for sure. Lots of British cars used common hinges from other models , and they would stamp a different "riser" under the hinge to make it fit the next model car , so the hinge pins were flat to each other , making them work despite a different curve of the body. Like I said earlier, a spacer can be made for under a hinge to do the same thing. Just takes a bit of time.

I dont think a Model A deck lid is entirely flat either. I still vote for the Morris Minor bonnet hinges. They are sexy, too.

I thought I had a set of Minor hinges here at the house , to give you guys a definite measurement , but can't find them - sorry ! I know they are here somewhere, lol !
I like the look of them too , as well as ones from a Spitfire, old TR-2/3/4 cars and stuff like that. With a little ingenuity, they can fit.

Now that's my dream car right there - a cool British convertible with Ford power !! Nice ones are getting pretty pricey for this poor boy though :( .

  12. As I had said.I have the hood hinge ones like pictured. I broke the studs off them and they are NOT flat.

As for the boat hardware...well no offense but.. That ain't going on my car

  13. My trunk is pretty damn flat
