Same here. Between my son and I we've installed at least that many EZWire kits or more. First kit was all black but well marked. I believe this was before they made the colored kits since we usually buy from Turkey Run near where EZWire is and that was years ago.
Black was fine but why not use colored for the same price, normally?
I used to buy and make my own kits but for the money these cheaper premade kits are worth the extra time and work.
Since there are vendors right here in the HAMB with good prices it would be smart to buy from them.

Well folks are using them and as you said it's a matter of preference on the whole black wires= tidy etc. I couldn't work with the black only myself and when i wire things i use woven sleeving everywhere you can see and heat shrink in hidden places to keep it tidy and more kind of period looking, no visable rainbows. The woven sleeving is piss cheap, looks really nice and finishes the job nicely. For what folks spend on zip ties and electrical tape , for me, its a no brainer and the devil is in the detail. I've got a slight case of OCD and i do my best to hide all the wiring.

Anyhow, who needs kits in the first place? That's what 13 core trailer cable was invented for;):D

    Good luck, Dan

  3. then order it and find out......I've done a ton of rewires on old cars. I've done the all black. I would never do it again. It took probably a whole 8 hours longer than doing it with a colored harness, if not more. I'm young and have good eye sight too. Also I noticed that in someones pictures posted on this thread that the harness isn't wrapped and protected at points of wear along it's route. I personally wrap all my harnesses to protect them from vibration wear and tear because loose wires mounted rigid like that WILL wear out the wire shielding and then ground out. It may take 60,000 miles, but it will happen. I've seen it. I've fixed it. If you are so worried about how it looks.....Wrap it.

That's the stuff I plan to run inside the steel conduit for the lights. should work safely right? Does 13 core mean there are 13 wires inside it? Bob

Hitchhiker i couldn't agree more about the sleeving. In my previous post i mentioned the woven sleeving but additional i use braided sleeving in areas likely to rub and heat sleeving near exhausts etc. Sounds a little flash and maybe it does add to the cost but i couldn't do things any other way. Just another hidden cost of rodding, like quality, matching fasteners.

  8. I attached a picture of what I use and what I believe he suggested. There is a tar dipped one too that I like.

You and I are on the same page.

I've used them in six cars, the first four were fine, even though can't see the wires when finished i liked them. HOWEVER THE NEXT TWO KITS WERE JACKED UP IN THE FUSE BOX. The first four came from NJ i think. But the company moved To Fla (not sure. HOWEVER I'm done with them. I now use Ron Francis, never used the rebel but people on here like him. So for me it's Ron Francis or Rebel. I'M DONE WITH EZ

Peterbilt has been using all white wires (coded with #'s) for 50 years... easy as pie to work on.
