I'm using an F-1 crossmember in my A-V8. It was obviously designed to be used for either right or left hand drive as there are pedal mounts on either side. Remembering Ross Perot's mantra, I measure twice, then cut once. Actually I measured and measured and measured, then cut the driver's side to fit inside the A rails. As I prepared to cut the p***enger side, I notices that things didn't appear to line up. The placement of the pedal holes and some other mounting holes are different from side to side. I'm pretty sure I've centered the crossmember as I've marked plumb lines on both the cross member and the ch***is.

The center of the cross member has a small hole directly in the middle of the trans mount on the vertical surface. It was in the center of the cross member before I started cutting. I've got a plumb line running down the center of the ch***is and everything is measuring up within an 1/8" off of it. Has anyone else seen this and is it a problem?

Check with Skidmarks who seems to be a great booster of F1 crossmembers for A-V8. Me, I'd rather **** my pants at church than try another F1 in an A. Last time I tried to debate the Skid was over on Fordbarn V8. He seems to have the answers. Good Luck: Fred A

dunno where you cut but all the ones I've done are symetrical.
