I saw them on the NAPA web site, I'm sure they can order them, along with Carquest.

O'Rilleys here had them for $120. I found them at an independent store for $78. Same ones.

I couldn't get them at O'Reillys or Auto Zone here in my town. Sacremento Vintage Ford had them for about $100 each. Local parts stores had the 53 and later f100. Got lucky and had a good set given to me.

Checked the Napa website. All I could find was the rears for $53. Are they the same as the fronts?

Are the '48-'52 F-1 front drums different than the '53-'56? Sounds like maybe they are.

I checked www.Rockauto.com and they list front drums for a '56, but not for a '52....

Yes fronts are different from the rears on 48-52 and different from 53-56. Have you tried Joblot in New York?

Job Lot had them advertised in the Spring/Summer 2008 catalog on their web site:

    Mike,
I didn't know you could put f1 brakes on snowmobiles.......maybe you should check at art's....

f1's are pricey.........f100's (1953 and up) aren't as bad because they were used up until the mid sixties. Check the tech archive for the big brake article. I think it lists part numbers and interchang-a-bility.
