Half ton pickup springs might be a little stiff for a Roadster. You might rebuild the stock stuff and get lucky but there are many companies out there that have built thousands of spring kits that will give you what you need from experience the first time.

Sounds like a good combo of parts, especially like the use of the early Cadillac motor - but consider using a stock transverse spring rather than the parallel setup.

  5. The hangers and hardware are neat,
I'm guessing the spring rate is designed for a truck that hauls loads :) not a roadster

    Front or rear springs?
The TCI ( and others ) kits uses front springs from a 60's dodge PU. Several leaves removed for a softor ride, but short enough to work properly under the early Fords.

Back in 1973-74 I had a 1932 Ford 3 window that I used those F-1 Front springs and hangers with a 65-66 Mustang 8" rear, work out pretty well. I had almost no $ and rear end kits were not really available like today. I believe the center to center is a lot less than the dodge springs. Sorry no pictures

  8. I used '56 F-100 FRONT springs on the rear of my '34 coupe. Worked fine.

  9. About 15 years ago a buddy built an A sedan and used
the complete rear end, including parallel springs and spring mounts
from a 47 F-1. Welded the spring mounts to the outside of the frame.
The car was fenderless. Springs were mounted under the axle.
He had to remove springs, and he used tube shocks.
    Worked great.
I suppose if you want to use fenders you could move the
    spring mounts to the inside.
Oh forgot, it was open drive.
    Just info, NOT a recomendation!

47 is way different than 48-52 . 47 had open driveshaft banjo , 48 up had a Dana 44 . Way to much spring for a car . A lot of leaves will need to be removed . Transverse is the answer

I put 48 front springs in the rear of my 34 truck. Stripped Em down to three leaves. Seems nice and squishy. Road testing will tell.
