How does this sound for a 50 F-1. A Mercury 312 Y block mated to the original early tall shifter 3 speed. I think the late flathead bellhousing will fit the Y.
Better plan again, sorry. The only bell housing that will fit a Y block is the one that came on it. Use the engine, but go with an overdrive or a five speed so you can drive it. I have a 312 with a five speed, a bitchen combo.
