Bought 2 F 100 columns. Going to sell one and have 1 redone. Thought I saw a Hamber that did that? Any idea who it is?

The old ones are pretty easy to work on. What year?

Not sure think about 48? Never took one apart. Big issue if it doesn't turn freely?

    Thanks

Hey Paul, they're pretty simple, if you take it apart you'll see what needs to be done. Just two bearings, two races, a worm gear and a bronze bushed sector shaft. The hardest part is removing the worm gear from the input shaft if it needs to be replaced, it often does as the gear itself is the inner bearing race.

I think Vern Tardel prints a book on rebuilding these...

I'm assuming the steering gear, (box), is still on it. If that is the case, sounds more like a gear problem. Is it out of the truck?
