    Okay, now this is crazy.

The rusty crusty pitman arm on the left fits my '48-'52 F1 box.....it DOES NOT have a ball.......and is supposed to be a '58-'59 F-100 arm ?????

The sandblasted pitman arm on the right fits my '53-'56 F-100 box...it DOES NOT have ball also......and is supposed to be a '57 F-100 arm ?????

My question is: Is there a difference in Pitman Arms for the Ford F Series pickups between '57-'60 ? Is one a 1 ton arm and the other a half ton arm?

    Here is some pictures.

So you know you have 2 pitman arms that fit your box and have tapered holes for tie rod ends which means you have 2 pitman arms that will work.
What do you want to know?

My question is....These are both F-100 steering arms....the greasy one is supposed to be a '58-'59, and the clean one is a supposed to be a '57. Am I tripping out here? I thought the '57-'60 were the same. In the pictures, they are different. Is one a 1 ton arm?

Just curious. Sorry for the confusion.

One may be for a heavier truck. Which ever one you don't use if you want to sell PM me as I'm looking for one.

I think the differance might be that some of those trucks had power steering, and some didn't, that might explain the differance in the two. not sure though

Could be an early econoline arm? I know they'll fit the F100 box but are shorter in length.

Okay...I think I might have identified it! I just received an email from a friend stating that the Gray Pitman Arm is most likely a " '57-'60 Ford F-350 pickup steering arm ".

So I think I was in the right direction. I will keep you all posted as soon as I get it here!

BTW....These arms are also not for sale. I just needed help on identifying them.

Thanks everyone for the help! I appreciate it.

If they have part no.'s on them that might help end the confusion, if someone can find the part no.'s in there books. A guy just did an intro and said he worked at a ford parts counter and had lots of info. on old ford parts.
