My Dad built a '56 big window. It had a '65 Chevelle front subframe and a Corvette rear, the truck was painted black, and it had chrome wheels painted red in the centers. I'm just wondering if anyone knows where it may be. It was sold at Back to the Fifties in 1988 or '89. It would just be neat to know if it's still around. Jeff Dyce
O.K. just a few more............ the last two in this group of pics have just been imported into New Zealand from America
I can't believe no one has posted the Sanford and Son truck. Didn't Kutty Noteboom have 55 or 56? It looked pretty good if I recall. I think it even had a plexiglass or lexan window in the hood.

My work in progress I've owned this truck for 21 yrs. and it time I quit putting it on back burner for other projects.
Just picked this 53 up for my new daily, still got the original 215 six and three on the tree. I think it was restored about 10 years ago, been sitting so long the brand new tires are flat-spotted.
Yes, it is a glass front end. It's a Fairlane product, that I picked up at the supernationals one year. Also got their running boards and 3" wider rear fenders. The top was orginally planned to be chopped 5 1/2", but when we put the top back on after the initial cut, I decided that I wanted a little more, so it wound up being 6 1/4". ( The width of the tape we were using to define the initial cut line.)
Hey Brian, The latest Rodder's Journal has a pic of this truck and mentions the guy's name who owns it (apparently some long time hot rodder/builder I think it said). I just bought it last night and thumbing through quickly, that was the first caption I read in the whole thing, great truck!!!!!
mine still a work in progress. need to redo some things on the front end and get the 460 runnin better. still from a rust bucket to this point in a little less than a year.
Hot Damn! I didn't even notice that! Ha ha, I just went back and looked through my issue again and saw it. Thanks Big Dreams!
Thanks. I just left Books a million looking in it and I must have missed that page. Will check it again tomorrow.
Here ya go, I will save you the trip. Here's the pic and the caption from that page. You gotta love modern technology!
