Im sorry I just cant help but ranting about the feature in the new ol skool rodz mag on that 51 chevy that looks like an olympic ski jump!!!!!!!!!! the rest of the mag was pretty great but the only reason that freestyle motocross jump car should be in that mag is with a funny caption below it! there is a difference between low budget and pos!!!

    sorry,
    todd

i abosultely hate that mag. The only nice car feature imho was that merc towrads the end. They have the word rat rod, and rockabilly way to much. Just my 2 cents

If you were "hot rod" enough and "rockabilly" enough you would understand what they are doing. Just ask Sinner.

I'm not taking sides either way on this magazine but it just blows my mind that the people who hate it so much always know everything thats in it..........something to think about.

dont get me wrong i really like the mag. i know they have alot of growing because they are new so i know they will do some wierd stuff every once in a while. Its just that when a mag does a feture on a car that when it rolls into a car show and everyone says what the fuck is that makes me wonder who is doing this artical. there were alot of other cars from viva they could of done an artical on that were low budget like the bergundy suade 51 chev that was bad ass.

I am pretty sure it is "rockabilly" to be mad doggin all the time. They just took pictures of the guy in his natural rockabilly state. But so far I don't mind the mag. I don't get worked up over that stuff...

Agreed that 51 Chevy was so damn nice. I think it won some type of award.

On another note lets not start this again. Grimlock already had to close the last topic on the mag last week, lets not do the same thing again. But if we want to bag on that ugly car lets do so, just not open up the OSR shit again.

i dig the mag, a new friend gave me quite a few copy's at trashville (even though i read on the last thread about this he said he would never do it again... i really hope he was just venting because i have been drooling over most the pictures.

big deal if there are a few cars nobody likes... if you dont want your subscription send it to me.

I think it would be really "COOL" to have no windows at all, just a periscope [IMG]

Thanks Tcoupe. yep thats one ugly piece of crap. There is a skill involved in making hot rods and customs and it has nothing to do with mechanical ability. It has to do with style, proportion, and art. That guy is lacking those skills.

Actually, I dig the mag cause there's not quite anything else like it out there...I know, some of you are happy about that. [IMG] But I haven't even seen issue 5 in my local bookstores...where are you guys finding it!?

Maybe I'm missing something from the front, but if you cut a rear window into that, I'd bet that everyone here would say that was a great looking car.

Someone informed me that the rear window is in the trunk. He only pulls it out when needed...

Wal-Mart? Odd. I know our local Barnes & Noble carries it, but I haven't seen the new one there yet.

    Hmm...

Looks like a cockroach...someone accidentally stepped on it but halfway through heard the crunch and left it half dead to squirm.

It's somewhat similar to the chop they've been doing in Custom Rodder, except with a much lower level of skill. The one in CR looks like crap (my opinion) but at least it's quality work.

If you "mad dog" enough it makes up for skill and taste both in music and cars. Its that simple...its an inverse relationship...

I still find that people bash this book hilarious. What do people here bitch about wanting in a magazine?

All traditional types of rods and customs, no fluff-mobiles? Check.

Techs related solely to traditional hot rod related stuff, not the newest electric do-hicky? Check.

Tons of shots of cool ass cars just like we like, no 150,000 Boyd shitboxes? Check.

Products, music and information and stuff a lot of us are into here on the boards? Check.

So why the FUCK do yo guys bitch? You whine about how Rod and Custom is too billet and now OSR is to rockabilly. Jesus Christ... you guys get what you want and still bitch about it.Don't like what's in the mag? Go build somethin' worth showin' in one!
