Don if you are retired I'll never be able to retire, I dont have enough energy! How many projects can one guy manage?

  2. I have a short attention span. I work on one for an hour and then go to the other. That way I am never bored. But my little rail has garnered my full attention this year. I keep stepping over the other ch***is to use my lathe and think "a couple of days i would have that rolling around" but since seeing McTims Y block I am thinking vintage V8 but for me it has to be Mopar. The man though has inspired me big time. I am impressed with his success.
    Don
My older brother Ron used to say "When work gets in the way of projects cut out the work." I did 13 years ago. Funny thing though he is still working!?

  3. Me too!!! Rocky, I just want to thank you again for all the help at Famoso. You guys are the best! Rocky, Lee, Rick, Lisa and everyone else. I had a blast! I hear there is a test and tune next weekend , I just got the word that the El Mirage meet has been canceld so we wont be going there.

Carl, you get that new Flatty going with that 4-71 and you wont need a lead, I will! ;)

Thanks Ray. I don't think I hurt anything, I just fired it today when my niece came over. I want to get her started racing since I don't have a son of my own. What do ya think? ;)

Don, I'm a Ford (Y-Block) guy but I just like cool engines and I think a Poly would be COOL! :D (Believe it or not always been one of my favs) Go for it and run that thing down here to Eagle Field next year.

I think she is one beautiful young lady. And a lucky one too to be able to learn to race.

She looks good sitting in the dragster and would probably love taking it down the track.

Just don't be upset when she runs better times than you :) You know, weight advantage ;) :D

McTim if it doesnt work out with your niece, you can adopt me as your son and I'll be happy to drive your FED. A yblock powered FED would be a dream come true.

What a great story, and a very professional video. Makes me want to build a front engine dragster even more.

This is a great thread !!!

  14. Don, I do like some of the six banger dragsters but there is just something you can only get with a V8. I say go for it! You already have a Slant Six car, use the Poly. ;)

  15. OK I m hooked. I figure I can paint on the side of it "POLY WANNA CACKLE!"
Finding one will be my next adventure. Ever try to trade a 87 Jag engiine for a poly? I would like push****ons too. We had them in this altered and they worked great! Here is the engine in my first race car /street car. May 1966. Sorry but you got me cranked !

Tim, I'm at a loss for words. Nothing like a Ford Powered Rail in Full Throttle motion ! Or as the figther pilot where I work say - "Rage On !" - seems to fit for me.

  22. Spent today working on Elwood, he now sports a Blue Thunder intake with a Mighty Demon four barrel carb. This should bring my top speeds up and hopfully my E.T.s down. ;)
