Ben...it was Aug 7 this year he chimed in... I had a hiatus myself...but yes, sometimes life and flaming that can erupt in Threads makes stepping back for a moment to reflect happen, but yeah when active members take a break I do hope they are okay and will be back in good spirit... Perhaps someone will chime in as many here are in communities not far apart...Lets give him a red flag...paging @F&J @BigO's another and he was fighting a nasty thing... Hope you Hambers are just chilling...
@firstinsteele I sent a PM...he may get that via email...hope he chimes in...a pretty special Hotrod he has eh! ...such a cool ride...
Last I recall a few years? back, Frank was getting into restoration of maybe a LaSalle. He didn’t think it would fit in with what the HAMB is about. I think he was going to hang out on AACF.
I spoke with Frank back in Aug when I was needing some advice on my trans issue. He is plugging along and still driving the 32 as his daily. Haven't seen him on the AACA but never looked that hard either.
Thanks, guys. Stogy, I missed the Aug date. I have followed Frank since I first found this place. He was/is doing an old ['29? ] Nash. Replacing all the wood with steel. I know he had some health issues a few years back. Frank is one man I would like to meet and chew the fat with. Ben
I've seen a few of his posts over on the AACA but not real recently. His profile there says it been since June since his last visit. I hope he's ok.
I've been wondering about him too. For quite a while. Concerned, actually. And I miss him sharing his excursions with us. Last time I remember, I said I had my garage all organized. He said I should come over and organize his shop. I joked, "You messed it up, you clean it." LOL And then I didn't hear anything more. Please come back, Frank. @F&J I was only serious.
I used to visit Frank now and then at his shop / house when I lived in Connecticut. Frank's shop was somewhat typical of what you expected to see back in the 1940-1950's. Very primitive, no fancy tools, just the basics. Frank has worked wonders out of his shop. He exemplifies what a true hot rodder really is. He does make silk purses out of pig's ears.
I enjoyed his thread where he put an early Olds in his '40 Coupe...I referred to it many times when I put an Olds in my '40 Convertible.
