Good luck on the carb. I had a 61 Falcon also with a 170. I went thru 3 NAPA carbs that were no good plus 1 from Autozone. I called Holley and they said that it was the luck of the draw and that they just use rebuilt kits on the cores. After a while they just get to worn out. When asked if he had any suggestions he said just keep trying. I ended up getting a carb off of a 65 mustang that had been sitting for 12 years. Cleaned her up and the ol' falcon ran great. Like I said good luck, hopefully you will have an easier journey.
