there's a guy in SC goes by the name of Shots he had or has a g***er Gremlin

  4. When my wife and I were first dating we did it in my little red Gremlin. Normally that would be mildly funny, thinking what crazy kids we were back in the 70s. Funniest part is, this was only like 4 or 5 years ago.

That ain't no Fermont, it's a Grand Marquis.......I think :D A bad *** Gremlin would be a fun ride.......Sounds like Don Vee's Gremlin was a fun ride too!

Wow, that grille looks like the last of the square body Marquis. Wouldn't have known an '82 Granada if it ran over me.............now I know.

  15. yeah I had a friend in high school that had a Granada ESS. He used to wear leather driving gloves when he drove it becausee it was like a "european" sedan.

    is this something like that?

It was the last of the boxy mid-sizes before the Taurus arrived.

    Like I said, I wanted a Falcon.
    Desired a Comet.
    Got this..

  17. I may not know a lot about marketing, but if you are 4th in a race with with the "Big 3" in 1970, naming a car after "An imaginary gnomelike creature to whom mechanical problems, especially in aircraft, are attributed" is probably not smart.

Where do you suppose bringing up the same car 29 years later on a post '64 hot rod message board ranks?

P.S. My dad bought one in '73... I'm guessing that falls a little below both.

One last thought on why this hit me as an idea.

I look at the Highboy '55's and the compact insanity of the Winged Express and thought a Gremlin would be sick and at the same time off of the charts as for anyone's choice as to what to mess with.

Gutted with fibreglas seats, a roll cage and a sick 8 track player! Center of the grille pulled out and a Moon tank in its place and lose the front bumper.
Full on panel paint job, buggy sprung front axle with a nosebleed stance.
12 spoke Kelsey's and out back a set of wide American Torque Thrusts.

    Form before function?
Maybe, but the look would have people shaking there heads and grinin'.

But just in case, have air sickness bags on hand.

  20. She is a very rare thing here in the midwest. HOT!!! Come on boys from Omaha, who is she? Those are 97-98 NEBRASKA plates on the car.

I had a buddy that had one in the early eights they were called a Gremlin-X, factory 390 car with a possi. it would melt the tires clear off of it.And scarey as hell when in motion at any kind of speed

But would'nt have one if they where giving them away

  24. Wally Booth's Gremlin.

While this may not be a g***er, no one can deny Wally Booth did it his way and proudly held up the AMC banner in the 70's...BTW if you're ever in Berkley, MI on 12 Mile road near the Dairy Queen, Wally's shop is still open to visitors, just look for the Booth-Aaron's sign above the door. These pictures are from the 2008 AMC Family Meet in Livonia during Woodward Dream Cruise weekend.
