I am rebuilding the F1 box I am using on my 32. I am replacing the sector gear and pin. In the pics I have the new one and pin in place but need to do somthing to the pin to keep it in place. The original was flared or I don't know what you call it but the pin was not able to push out. I tried a punch and hammer but it didn't do anything to the pin. How did you do it?

Id try putting a rose bud to the head of the pin and getting just the pin glowing then hitting the head with the ol' ballpin hammer! Treat it like a rivet...I had a friend heli-arc his in...has broke yet! haha...good luck

I had thought of that but wasn't sure if it would damage the rollers. Any other thoughts?

I hit mine with the stick welder on the outside edge where I can get to it with a grinder the next time I have to rebuild the box. Just enough to hold it in place.

Must have worked - 6 years as a daily driver and no problems.
