I was pulling an 8ba out of a 51 1 1/2 ton when I noticed that the steering box seemed the same size as a F-1 box. Are they the same? Are they different internally?
    Thanks in advance,
    Karl

    .
I'm not sure about F-1's but on the 53 to 56 F-100 a ton box will work in a half ton truck. I think you have to drill 1 hole. The ratio of the ton makes the steering a little easier.

Only difference is the ratio, I pulled 2 F3 boxes today from a truck graveyard that is going to get crushed soon. Also got the shock mounts, a nice flathead, and some other parts.
