How many leafs can i remove (front and rear) and still be safe. I have always heard that to remove every other one and it can still be safe, I dont want to slam it but lower it a bit...Drop axel is in the back fo my mind but wanted to do something on a budget first..Thanks
I'd start with the small ones and remove the 1st and 3rd and then see how it sets. If you like it great, if not remove the 5th. Just make sure that your bump stops are in place so you don't get something like this;
I removed every other one on the rear of my '51 F1, so far so good. You'll see more axle wrap, but unless you're running a lot of HP I doubt that'll be an issue. I have a flathead so I surely won't have a problem...
Don't know how it compares to F1, but I am down to four in the rear of my 53 F100. Rides great but hauls little.lol.
As far as the front, I did a reversed eye main spring and removed (2) every other small and gained a bunch on the cheap.
