They are the same as p*** car 37-48. Maybe 33-48. The F-1 uses stock p*** gears. You must have a buddy with a worn out rusted p*** geear box.

I lost mine too- did research and found a nut from the G.M. dealer for $3. It is from a 70s or 80s car. I think Pontiac. Surprised me! I can't remember the number. They are NOT rare as I thought.

The hardware stores in Sweden dont have alot of nuts,we use the metric system ;)
I dont need one that looks exactly as the one on the Picture, just need one that fits.
I asked JobLot but they dident have it.

I had a hell of a time finding one myself. I did all the hardware store/nut and bolt suppliers etc., nothing fit. It's not common that's for sure, you guys must have some bad*** hardware stores, lol. A guy on the Ford Barn sent me 2. I will measure the thread count with a gauge and the diameter when I get to the shop, I'm on my way there now.

One thing to consider on this, if you have friends over there with some American junk stashed in their garages...the spline used on your steering and on Fords at least 1932-51 is VERY common, used on many other cars including lots of GM products and I think early Volvos as well as the horde of USA users. This suggests the possibility that perhaps something you have access to might have the same threads as well as the splines.

The gents on the Fordbarn would know for sure. I just bought mine for my model a (with f1 box) as it didn't have a pittman arm or nut. It was 7/8ths, but could have been in the wrong drawer?

The thread specs on the nut would be in the parts book.
